Hands-on workshop. Alicante Veterinary Orthopedic Meeting

Alicante Veterinary Orthopedic Meeting 17-18 November

Instituto Vetermed Alfaz del Pi Alicante Spain

Balancing osteotomies are frequently used in human medicine.

Its goal is to achieve correct alignment and improved joint function that increases the likelihood of normal postural stability.

These procedures allow the joint to regain its postural corrective compensatory function and should be considered for the treatment of dogs with OA and compartment injuries. Veterinary surgeons should be aware of the advantages of these surgeries.

At the meeting, these techniques will be explained, as well as joint resurfacing techniques.

We will also have a human surgeon who will explain these techniques in human patients and we will have a round table where experts will discuss these topics.

Speakers: Jan Hnízdo, Alan Danielski, Pedro Godinho, Almudena Pradera and Guillermo Cortés.

Hands-on courses: TPLO/InternalBrace. This course includes lectures and a hands-on cadaver workshop to teach the participants the theory and surgical technique of TPLO and Internal Brace.

SynaCART Arthrex: This course includes lectures and a hands-on cadaver workshop to teach the participants the theory and surgical technique of the Synacart joint resurfacing technique for treating osteochondral defects
